Hi, looking for some guidance on home networking. My cable modem is located in the basement and hardwired into my wireless router on the main floor so it is centrally located for best coverage. My challenge is I have two other Ethernet connections I need to make right next to my modem, one being a security camera server. So, my question is can I solve this with inserting a switch in the middle or by adding a primary router and setting up my wireless router as secondary? Or, is there a third option?
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
