Rendering-Deisgn Computer. AMD Ryzen vs Intel

Hello,

I'm an architect with great interest in the rendering sector and I'm looking for a new & powerful set up. I have been out of the computer improvements for a long time, but I've read now that AMD has created really powerful processor (Ryzen) able to beat the high-end extreme editions of Intel fur a lower price. Would you recomment me to try this new Ryzen 1800X instead of an Intel setup? As far as I've read this cpu's have a huge calculation potential, perfect for rendering. And as for the GPU, is it worth geting an nVidia Quadro or is it better an nVidia 1080 for the same price

Thanku you

PC blew up, power surge?

Hello,

Could a power surge/spike caused by an electrician messing with the wiring in the building where I live cause my PC to blow up? Electrician was doing some heavy rewiring and cut the power before warning me, and my machine caught on fire suddenly and burnt out. He's saying this could not have been caused by anything he did. Seems too much of a coincidence to me.

Thanku you

Upgrading

Hello,

I have been upgrading my ageing system with an SSD and Windows 10 Pro 32 bit. But as I play a few games and use it for photo editing I think I need a new graphics card as things are slow in places..
The system is an AMD Phenom X4 B50 running at 3.2 GHz on an ASRock N68C-S UCC motherboard and currently an AMD HD5700 series graphics card. So the question is can I just sensibly uprade the video card and to what or do I need to go for a new processor, CPU and graphics card?Thank You!

Do I need an upgrade?

Hello,

I am using 5960x as my cpu but my brother keeps telling me that I need an upgrade to 7700k.

Is it true that 5960x can't handle most 4k gaming (although I don't even do 4k gaming) and not designed for gaming at all so I should sell and switch to 7700k?

My brother's idea is that comparing to 7700k, 5960x will always lag while playing most games out there therefore I should not keep it. (all I do mostly is playing LOL). Is this true??
If anyone has anThank You!

Faulty memory causing PC freeze?

Hello,

: Is it possible for faulty RAM to cause this? Maybe a faulty Hard drive? I have ran a chkdisk as well as a Memtest86 and a mdsched.exe. All of them come back as though nothing is wrong. I have two RAM slots in my PC and I have tried using both, but the problem persists. Also I have tried to run my laptop without the batter to eliminate that as the culprit.

If anyone has anThank You!

Should I Install GT 730?

Hello,

is my very first time posting in this forum Happy I use to read a lot, but know I have a quick question.

I have an Intel core I5 7400 on a Gigabyte B250M-Ds3h whit 8 gb of RAM at 2133mhz (DDR4) single slot. (I recently buy cause my old computer is crashing a lot and I have a lot of work to do)

So, I not sure if I should install my old GT 730 2gb (evga) cause I think the integrated graphics of the CPU can be a Little bit better.

Also, I though in maybe in use some old ram, but are in different frequency I think 1666 ddr3
 Thanks.

Cannot reply in my recent

Hello,

I was able to write replies at first and received valuable advice. I still haven't resolved the original issue I posted about, however since recently I am unable to post any replies.
The thread doesn't seem to be locked or anything like that. Any ideas? Thanks.
